Identifood terms of use

The most important thing on this page. Identifood tells you what a dish usually contains. A photo can't see the kitchen: recipes vary, ingredients get swapped, and pans, oil and mortars are shared. Identifood is not medical advice and it can be wrong. If you have an allergy or a medical diet, always ask the people preparing your food, and carry your own medicine. Your food card helps you ask; it can't guarantee the answer.

Who we are

Identifood is made by Nth Finite Labs [confirm legal entity, address and governing law]. By creating an account you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.

Your account

You need an account to use Identifood: it holds your scan allowance, your plan and your food card. Keep your sign-in to yourself. You can delete your account at any time in Settings.

Scans and plans

New accounts get 3 free scans, then 1 free scan a month. Your food card is always free.
Identifood Plus: $7.99 a month or $49.99 a year, 40 scans a month. A Trip pass is $9.99 once for 30 days and 50 scans, and doesn't renew. [confirm final prices before launch]
Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically through your Apple ID unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period. Manage or cancel in Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions.
A dish someone has already scanned opens without using a scan. A scan that comes back "not sure" doesn't count.
Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's rules. [confirm whether we also offer our own goodwill refund policy]
Fair use: plans are for personal use. We may pause scans that look automated or abusive.

What you may not do

Don't use Identifood to break the law, to scrape or resell its answers, to try to get at other people's data, or to overload or reverse-engineer the service.

Our content and yours

The app, its design and its dish breakdowns belong to us. Photos you scan remain yours; we use them only to answer you and don't keep them. Reports you send may be used to correct answers for everyone.

Answers, translations and liability

Dish breakdowns, nutrition estimates, culture notes and food card translations are generated by AI and may be incomplete or wrong. Translations are marked "draft" until a native speaker has checked that language. To the fullest extent the law allows, Identifood is provided "as is", and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for any reaction to food. Changes, ending and contact

We may update these terms and will tell you in the app before important changes take effect. We may close accounts that break these terms. Questions: hello@identifood.app.
